I bumped into Mark and Ben at WordCamp Birmingham 2015, where they told me about their Relative Paths podcast and kindly invited me onto the show.
I was given a free reign on what I wanted to talk about – but the obvious choice was WordPress theme development and theme frameworks of-course! We also went on to discuss some tools that I use to develop with, such as Sublime and Espresso, along with some good working practices for any budding theme developer.
I’d like to thank the guys for having me on the show – it was fun sharing some of the things I’ve learned (and continue to learn!) whilst developing Wonderflux. Oh – and a-little credit to my chosen song – Saphire by Bonobo, which is in good company on the Relative Paths Spotify playlist!
Some of the things we covered during the interview:
- Theme development principles
- Getting started with theme frameworks
- Various framework options available
- Things to consider if you want to develop your own framework
